hi i have an australian delivered 250cc bandit
the red vavle cover model with the variable timing
what compression should i be getting ?
i did a compression test and got the following figures but i have no idea if the figures are good or bad
from my limited knowledge i would say they are a bit low but with no workshop manual (which apparently doesnt exist) i have no idea if my numbers are good or bad
cyclinder 1 95psi
cyclinder 2 100ps1
cyclinder 3 95psi
cyclinder 4 100psi
thanks,
nate

According to this website
http://www.synapse.ne.jp/s-hara/bandit/ban-spece.html
You should looking at numbers in the range of
163-192 psi
No more then 28 psi variance between cylinders.
Use limit 113 psi

thanks
the bike runs like absolute crap
i got it cheap hoping it was a carbie prob and i could fix it up
but i guess its up for a rebuild
i have a mate who has offered to do it he is a race engine builder
but he needs a complete workshop manual (which doesnt exist)
any ideas if the 400 manual would be ok for him??

anyone?
will the 400 workshop manual work with rebuilding the 250 v?

maybe in here?

You sure maybe the valves are just not out of wack or do you suspect bad rings?

there is oil on the plugs - but this may be the valve cover - there is no smoke
and it idles ok
there is no power when i turn the throttle it chugs and struggles to rev
if you ride it it barely has enough power to make it up any slight inclines.
any ideas?
