Title: Another Learnertic on the road - nearly
Post by: aussiebandit on November 20, 2006, 12:01:41 AM
Everyone in the Riverina/SW Slopes area of NSW, beware, there is another Learnertic on the road.

"The Eldest" did his Learners Coarse on the weekend and passed (The Treasurer now owes him an irridium visor).

All he needs to do now is pass his computer (theory) test and he's mobile.

Unfortunately, I'll be in Brisbane this week (work not pleasure) so I won't get to ride with him until the weekend.  Problem number 2 is that I will no longer be able to ride the KLR650.  Trust me, at 6'3" I'm not going to argue with him.....

Guess he'll be at the rally now  And the gods road blast saturday to clear the booze induced fog.  :stickpoke: He might be 6'3 but I can still see janice grabbing him by the ear and a "sit down NOW, you aint going nowhere" :beers:

So very very true.....

One interesting thing the riding instructor said to me was

"He's a natural, but he's just got to slow down a bit"

I don't understand where he gets that speed thing from :duh:  :duh:  :duh:

The Eldest reckons he's going to give Packy a run for his money in the slow race though....as long as he doesn't pick up some of Packy's other bad habits I'll be happy - and yes he has met Packy a couple of times.....

True.....very very true.....with Packy, Mudguard and Sceptic at the Rally what more entertainment do you need.

By the way 'the eldest' passed his theory test - took him to goes - but he got it.  The first one had questions about TRAMS - I didn't think we had TRAMS in NSW :duh:  :duh:

I've been away all week (Melbourne and Brisbane - work not pleasure) so this afternoon will be the first time he gets to go out for a ride - should prove interesting....

But I reckon 3 days aint enough for a tassie trip but 3 days can be well spent at the redback rally         :beers:  :beers:

Cool, I hope you guys can make it.  I'll let you know the dates as soon as we've confirmed them.

Mind you, with "The Eldest" tagging along - Gods Road will be a bit slower - although he should be on his P's by then so he'll be able to do 90 (legally) instead of 80.

Janice is planning on coming to next years - she's was a bit pissed off that she missed this years.

Mick, wash your mouth out, gods road a bit slower, eh how? is that possible? Well I guess there is always a first for everything, gods road slower than our normal speed, or should I say at legal speed, this does not compute......     Better hurry up and get a chair for the rex, I might just be able to keep up

You're right, what was I thinking - we can wait at the end for him - 'let the bikes cool down a bit'

The only problem is, his names not MICK :duh:  :duh:

I've been riding with The Eldest a couple of times in the evening and The Treasurer followed him for a bit this morning and honestly - I can't wait until he gets a bit more experiance - he'll be giving some of us 'old farts' a run for our money.

Having said that though, he's certainly showing the right attitude to riding - take it easy in town, wear the right gear, and trust no-one.....

Yep, he's learnt from my mistakes - fortunately none of which were life threatening, just expensive.....
