I see in our local newspaper that the Aust. Gov has sanctioned the biggest camel cull in history.

They reckon on killing off up to 2000 camels and leaving the bodies for the Dingos.

Still I suppose that keeping the water hole free for the sheep must be important to the farmers. After all, who ever heard of doing it with a camel?

Last year they wanted to cull Koalas in SA I beleive. What happened about that little rush of blood?

I think they actually did cull some Koalas. In the ACT they culled quite a few 'roos last spring early summer. The 'roos I can understand but the Koalas, why not just relocate the buggers.

As for doing it with a camel, you'd need a step ladder and extra strength velcro......

The Koala cull I do believe went ahead.
Man if we believed all the tree huggers, we would think there is none of the buggers left. Problem is with the koala, is the native habitat, for the fussy buggers is very fragile, and they tend to over populate, being the randy little buggers they are. Now being randy little buggers, they the koalas have there own form of VD, and if not culled from the main groups threaten to wipe out the whole group. So the question is to cull and save the group as a whole or not to cull and have the whole lot wipe them selves out from VD. Now the Kangaroo, some places are so over populated with kangaroos that there is not enough feed for the buggers. Fact if a cocky farmer had as many head of sheep or cattle per area of land, as there are roos in some nation parks per area of land they would find themselves in court fined and convicted for animal cruelity. So go figure. As for camels send them all back from where they came from, dirty smell ferrel things. Like rabbits, ferrel goats boar ferrel cats, dogs they should all carry a bounty, to rid this fine country of such vermin.

Great idea - in London B4 you guys were on the planet (1975-76) we called all the Aussies at our club, `Bruce"

That was a really confusing state of affairs but at least we could see one another and we new which Bruce we were talking to.

The name was derived from a cartoon character who appeared every week in an Aus.NZ news bulletin. `Bruce the Wombat' was the main culprit of all things associated with Pom bashing and he was helped along his way by his best mate `Kevin the Kiwi'.

If I can get hold of some of the cartoons, I'll post them.

B12 Mick across the trech, trust me I was on the planet in '74-'75. Wasn't a teenager, but was certainly on the planet. The family, mum,dad and us 4 kids landed in the land of Oz in '70.

As for the 'toons, by all means - pommy bashing is fun (Particularly when the barstarts don't realise you're a pom as well)

From memory that's just North of Reigate. I suppose its been sucked into greater London by now.
I used to go out with a chick from Crawley. She was a biker but we lost her bike one day (a very long story) and she never liked me much after that least wise not in the same loving way
