HI GUYS
« on: March 17, 2006, 09:37:39 PM »
Just introducing my self as a new member. I am riding a K5 bandit and loving this bike. I have had no problems with it to date and try to use it as much as possible. To work to play and every day as long as the sun shines - it helps when you live in Queensland.
I have had the bike nearly 12 months and put about 15,000 ks on it so far. I don't ride it to hard but I do have some fun every now and again.
Still don't fully trust the macadams. but all is good.     :beers:

:welcome: - you'll like the bike even more once you replace the Macadams with something else.

If he has, I'd like to know his secret.  I only managed to get 12 out of the Macadam rear, then realistically 5 out of a Metzler M1 (squeezed 7, but I was pushing my luck).  I now have 9 thou on a MEZ4 and it's very nearly passed it's use by date.

I'm going to go back to a Macadam on the rear.  But there is no way on gods green earth am I ever going to put a Macadam on the front.

15,000 out of both front and rear macs up until rear flat . Had to replace both at the time as the front hated the new rear.
Shinko 005 for the rear and shinko 003 for the front , damn top price from Mick in Goodna . Two for the price of one $262 for both fitted.
Seems to stick like glue thus far but time will tell.
I may seem to get a lot out of the tyres but being smooth and with nearly 40 years riding experience and not so fond memories of leaving heaps of skin on the road i am no longer a boy racer but do it for the love of it not the thrill.

Just put a Macadam 100x on the rear of the B12.   $259, I really thought about shinkos, and other brands, but I'm afraid at the end of the day I know the Macadam.  It does take a little longer to warm up, but I know I can get at least 12,000km out it.

And, maybe just maybe, I'll slow down a bit......

Mick always has top prices, most people i know in Brissie get their tyres from him...as long as they have plenty of time to spare that is! LOL!
