« on: September 20, 2007, 08:37:40 PM »
G'Day all,

I'm wondering if there are any bandit groups in my area.

Tamworth 2340 NSW, or local ish, who meet for runs etc?

or what group / club would be my nearest?

Any info appreciated.

:welcome: Ron,

Not only are there not many Aussies on the Alley, but I don't think the Aussie Bandit Riders are quite as organised as in the 'states.  Certainly we aren't anything like as organised as the HOGgies, Guzzi Owners, Z1 Owners etc.

As B6 said we get together once a year in March at the Redback's (that's the group I generally ride with) Once Bitten Rally in Humula - about 70km's from Wagga heading towards Tumbarumba.

I've put the call out a couple of times for the Rally but it seems only B6 and myself are interested.  The rally gets around 80 odd (very odd) attendees.

One of the guys I used to ride with moved to Tamworth a couple of years ago - I'll try and find out where his is now and let you know - he doesn't ride a Bandit though - last I heard he rode a Yamaharley 650.

 :welcome:Dink.
Humula is the place.
Soon too.
Come on guys, its only 6 or 7 hard hrs riding time.
Hey I'm riding up the long way this year.
East from here, north at Cann River and down the Snowy Mountains Hwy.
Gotta try out all the goodies going into the REX.

New Dynojet stage 3 kit going in this week, as well as the airbox mods, shhhh the mod is its found it's way into the rubbish bin. K&N pods.
Heat rap on the custom exhaust.
Might see if the old credit will allow me a 5 degree advance kit.
I wanna see if I can break my fuel usage record. 18 litres of premium fuel between Cann River and Bombala.

hi Aus B
What date in march is the rally, tho i think if i ride really really hard i might not quite make the Mackay- Tumbarumba run in 7 hrs but I'm willing to try, maybe i could borrow someones licence and plates too.
Some good roads down there too that I haven't been on on years.

G'Day all,

Welcome to the Bandit world, Dink from Armidale.  You got it yet?  frosty be the man eh? good bunch of guys in there.

I got mine there. Got nearly 4000km on now.

Did poker run yesterday, was another 1250 from Gunnedah there, and about 3 or 4 1200's.

I got dale walkers stage 1 tune on mine now, pipe, k and n, TFI, goes very well, extra 15hp.

My mrs comes out often and LOVES the bike, usually has a yarn with other girls on the ride.

We are going to the 'vino calapso' rally in Kilarney qld weekend of 15th, 16th feb, currently 2 bikes with a third trying to fit time off in.

Anyone else who wants to come along, is welcome, dont need to ride a bandit, other bike at present is a 650 BMW.

I forgot about this forum, but got an email yesterday.

Will check it more often now.

Ron

Congratulations on the new GSF1250S and welcome to the Bandit version of the GS Resources my friend!  I think you will like it here, good group and very informative too. Do you have any pics of the new steed?

Redbacks Once Bitten rally is on the 14th to 16th March.

$15.00 at the gate, there are toilets and hot (if you're quick) showers.  The locals put on a reasonably priced feed for Saturday Lunch, Saturday Dinner, Sunday breakfast.  We (The Redbacks) put on a cheapish BBQ for Friday night and Saturday morning and most importantly, because it's at the pub there's beer on tap at normal bar prices, no they don't up the prices for us.

We hold a Gymkhana event, slow ride, tug-o-war, condom blowing contest, gumboot/piston/tyre toss, iron guts etc and the usual Rally Awards, Longest Distance, oldest rider, largest club attendance, bad luck story etc and a raffle or two.

On the Saturday, weather permitting, a couple of us take a ride to Tumut along 'gods Road'.

Oh and did I mention there's beer.

So come along and enjoy yourself, and help "The Treasurer" Mrs Aussiebandit celebrate her birthday.

Hi Mick
Thanks for the info, hoping to take time off when this project finishes so if it ties in I'll try to get there and my birthday is around the same time.
                                                  Later Swagzz

We were in Tamworth on the same day, but seeing as it was being run by "Bits & Sh!ts" we didnt go near it, didnt hurt that the rugrats were with us so we were in the car.
