Newbie attemping some bike improvement project

Hello fellow Aussie bandit owners,

My name is Steve, a proud owner of 1991 B250, but not dare to show the bike around yet... because of alot of work need to be done on the bike. It is definately a running bike, and it is Roadworthy. However, Cosmetically, not that great .... okok, damn ugly !!! withlots of dents, and scratches, and lots of grease stain........

There are lots of help and hints in this forum here, and around internet, showing how to do things, but the problem I am having now is, as a NOOB like me, not sure where I can get the parts/item that will actually hit my B250 .....
I know people have been telling me that most of the B400 parts/item would fit onto B250, but, it is also hard to even find B400 parts as well... not to mention the damn Wreckers trying to banckrupt me with their Ultra-jack-ass prices......

So, and hinters and recommendation out there ??? or any confirmation what parts are definately replacable with B400's parts.....

Right now, on my immediate list are:

- Tacho set
- Tank
- indicator lights (want to try fit the original look ) .....

and various other items.......

All hints and recommendation are appreciated !!!

Firstly Gday and 

Unfortunatly, with the current 250cc laws, you are at the mercy of the wrecking yards, and there is jack shyte ya can do about it, anything and everything 250 attracts, a healthy income for wrecking yards. Good old supply and demand.

But dont be disheartned, and don't forget to look at other options, ie your tank may be repairable, I faced the same problem with project Rex, to buy a new, second hand, or have the tank repaired. The latter being the path I took.
Also keep in mind the strong Ozzie dollar, Ebay overseas, may also be an option.

The other problem you face is that the B250 wasn't a particularly big selling bike in Oz and a hell of a lot of them are grey imports so Suzuki Aust won't help you.

I know you said you wanted to try and get the original look happening, but sometimes you can achieve a better look using aftermarket bits.  Also, make sure you actually measure things, you never know your luck, a part from another model, or even manufacturer might just do the trick, sometime you might just need to sand/grind a bit off, use a little loctite, or some 'packing'.

For example, I found out that the foot peg rubbers from a CT110 fitted nicely over the foot pegs of my old GSX600F.

The 'tie down' points that come standard on the B12 (removed when you fit a ventura rack) fit very nicely on a M750's gear lever.

The oil filter from an 80's commodore fits late 90's early 00's moto guzi cali's.
