And why doesn't anyone in the bike industry mention the fact the gov sets the price brackets? Makes you wonder. And a little more than $600 aussie, for both my bikes.. 1200 & 600. Does anyone know why the huge jump if it's more than 3 or so years old?

Isn't it like $100 bucks in QLD? maybe its the rego I'm thinking of.

Ok, apparently, it's got to do with $63.00 to look after kids hurt in accidents.  Now, if you don't have Full Comprehensive insurance they'll slug you another $100 or so.

I went on line http://motoraccidents-linux.vividcluster.global.net.au/index.html and found that for the B12, M750 and KLR650 to best price was $288.00, providing we have Full Comprehensive insurance and 'The Eldest' is not listed as a rider.  As soon as we mention a 17yr old on L's the price goes through the roof - understandable I suppose.

I still find it hard to believe that a bike is going to do as much damage to a 3rd party as say a Landcruiser, Patrol or even a Hyundai Getz for that matter.

That must be for a current model roughly though, right? Cause mines $600 for an '01, I'm 24.

"The Eldest" is my eldest son - all of 17 and is going for his Learners this weekend.

No, the price was based on an '02 model Bandit, '00 Model M750 and a '96 Model KLR650.

Bear in mind I'm the wrong side of 40 and 'The Treasurer' (wife) is 4 years younger, so we get a benifit from being 'old'.

As I said if the 17yr old is mentioned on the policy the price is $400 plus, depending on which company you go through...

You know, your right....

When we first moved the NSW the price of a CTP was between $500 and $700. Bloody Liberal Party

In '95 the liberals got chucked and the Labour party took over.  One of they're many broken promises was lower CTP costs.  Well they were right, the cost of a CTP dropped to around $250.00.  But over the last couple of years it's been steadily increasing to the point where it's now between $400.00 and $600.00.  Bloody Labour party......

Is it any wonder I why the 'informal' vote is so high.....

I wonder how many people would vote if it wasn't compulsory....

Thanks for the heads up, when we move I think we shall settle just south of the border, get to keep our personal plates as well

Live in Wodonga and work in Albury - why not - at least it's still the same time zone - people who live on the QLD/NSW border will know what I mean.....
