G'day Mick,
and Mick I know it's been a while since I last checked in, but it seems the only time I get a chance to jump on the PC at home is on a Saturday Arvo, kids are of at sport, and the Treasurer is either asleep or driving the kids to the next sporting field.
Hey, you'll never guess............yesterday I actually had to put on my wet weather gear.....at first I wasn't sure what to do about this sort of wet stuff falling from the sky...but luckily some old bloke explained to me that it was in fact RAIN......

Marty, how the phaaark are you bloke......
Lets NOT talk about Rugby Ok......one of the Managers at work is a sheep shagging kiwi and I've heard nothing but how good the All Blacks are....
-
I'm with you on that one mick. The ABs are riding for a fall and it is just about now me thinks.
Been away from the board for some time as you know. Cant really pin it on anything specific but things have moved in the last few months. We did a SI tour last March and ended up in Blenheim with the Ulysses AGM. The SI was a blast on 2 wheels except for theb rain on the west coast and out f Dunedin in the second week. Brettt rode with me and the chef and enjoyed the hike. He dropped it at Picton and I dropped us at Fox Glacier.
I see a few newbies have taken up thje keyboard and a few oldies are still plugging along.
I see the weather hasnt been kind to you this winter. We have had a share of the crap but lately we've pick up a few highs from your way. Good riding weather too
Gotta go andd watch the battle - CU
-
I can live with the rain, hell we need it, I can live with the cold too, just means you put more layers on - but what pisses me right off is when you get great riding weather on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, then on Friday the clouds start rolling in, then Saturday it pours down and Sunday's forcast is for snow down to 1000m, which means some of my favourite roads are out - including 'gods'.
-
Whats worse is after youve cleaned the bike and its looking spanking and you head of to work while the weathers fine. After 20km you hit a rain sqaull and the juganauts coming your way throwing up a shield of spume and shit and you have to clean the bike again that week :boohoo:
-
Sorry Marty, you lost me after you said "clean the bike". These days the B12 gets washed maybe once every couple of months, if it's lucky.
It always gets a good wash and polish the day before the Toy Run, but the rest of the time it gets wiped down with a wet cloth, and has Mr Sheen sprayed on and wiped off.
Basically we haven't had much rain, and I don't go down to many dirt roads, so the bike doesn't really get that dirty.
-
By the way Marty, I must congratulate you on another AB victory.....
Unfortunately, I won't hear the end of it at work.....
-
Hey Marty long time no see bloke :beers:
Mate the weather down here is great for riding, f all rain all year.
Bummer thing is if we don't get some big rains soon, if we should get our bikes dirty there will not be any water left to clean them. We have been saying it as a joke for some time, but it may not be the joke we made it out to be, if we don't get some big rains soon we will be paying more for water than fuel. :duh: Melb water storage is under 50% and we are in the middle of our winter. Plenty of fog and frosts but no real rain
-
Hey there Mick and Mick,
We are having similar weather patterns although we personally (the Chef and myself) dont have water problems. We are 2 only in the home as the budgies have flown the coup. We have two tanks collecting rain water and have with 11,000gallons of storage which which keeps the house going. We have a bore for the rest of the property and stock water but the water table is getting lower each year.
Now after all this time, I have devised new names for you 2 Micks so as to defuse the confusion for other interlopers from the US of A who dont know the difference between Wagga and Melbourne. So from now on Mick should be know as Mickwag and Mick should be known as Mickmel
As for the ABs Mick, it really was not a pretty game, but I must admiot their defense was good. Did you see JC grabing the dredlocks of one of the Kangaroos
Rain has started falling. First for a week and forecast to bset in for a day or two so into the cage for work

I didn't see any of the game, as it turned out I didn't need to..
YOu'd think a bloke would get the hint when you suddenly turn away and start walking - but not this bloke - no he followed me - I had to double check to make sure I wasn't wearing wool...
-
Welcome back Marty. I was out in the middle of a decent storm last week and was thinking of riding out to Cardinia dam to wring my clothes out. Would have brought the storage level up a couple of percent! Great time to debut a new dark visor-NOT!!
-
Hi Wiz,
I got caught last month with the same problem. Ended up driving 20Km with the visor up. Needless to say the bugs had a field day :duh:
