I've been playing with APRS tracking a little bit, and will have a unit on my pickup, and a small unit on the bike during the rally.
What this is, is...an amateur radio inteface for a GPS unit, that will transmit your location to another station, which uploads it to the internet.
I haven't had a lot of luck getting it configured properly, and it's only working 30% of the time.
Ideally, and in certain areas, you can essentially track a vehicle on the internet.
Anyway, it should work most of the way up to Willville, may work while riding in the area, may not.
Here's a general search query page that will pop up which, if any, of my units is being 'heard', and the last postion transmitted.

This will display all or any units being heard under my callsign.
If you click on a listing, it will show you the last postion of that unit.
Watch for the most recent position listing.
Last position is displayed as Days/hours/minutes/seconds AGO.
Right now, it's showing week old locations. Once I get moving toward Willville, one should change.
The following page currently shows the location of my pickup, the last time it got into the system, as I returned from VA last week.

This -14 suffix is the one that's most likely to start working today.
If Kd4ede-5, or -6 shows up, that's the miniature tracker, built in an altoids tin. It puts out less than half a watt......

The -14 and -2 are 2-3 watts.
-2 is my home.
By the next rally, I'll have the bugs worked out, and you should be able to follow whichever group I'm riding with during the rally, at home, on the internet.
Heck. I may not know where I am, but somebody will........

Damn thing worked up until Mount Airy, NC.
I did pull one of the battery connections loose........
The last time my pickup truck reported on the way up to the rally, was actually pretty close to Willville.
