Title: Ideas for 'trophies' and categories?
Post by: PeteSC on March 31, 2005, 07:28:32 AM
I could probably make up some mugs with appropriate categories.
  "Longest ride in"
  "Most modified B12'

   etc.

Any ideas?

Of course, voting will be swayed by the liberal appication of beer......

Looks as if beer may have already been "appicated"....

I'll donate my "slightly used" webmonster  coffee mug to the person with the ugliest mug...meaning that I will, most likely, get to keep it... :beers:

"Wheels of Death" sounds like something my Mother would say when I pulled the old "74 out of the garage when I was in high school.....doesn't sound like an award that I would want to win....  :?:

I knew I shoulda left that alone

Last time I mentioned it, Manny posted pics I thought were long gone.

The "Wheels of Death" is Pete's skateboard with a chain drive weedeater motor, t-bar handle bars, and 4" wheels.  Needless to say at one of the rally's screwing around in the parking lot, i hit a bump-flipped and my face did a dance with the pavement -fractured my cheel bone and had to leave early-couldn't wear a helmet for 6 weeks while it healed...  I tried once, but had a monster headache in about 10 minutes with it on...  And I didn't even get the fastest lap time..  :duh:

The only thing I got out of that was a 5 day script for percocet...  so didn't feel a thing for about 5 days...

A couple we have at our Rally..

Hard Luck Award - the person who had the best Hard Luck story usually the funniest most BS one wins.

Rally Rat - the ugliest, most decrepid, worst excuse of a bike.

Another one we have is Club Award which goes to the club with the largest number there - as a variation you guys could do it by State.

Awards are usually free grog. :bigdrink:

Straying off topic....

The Legend of the 'Wheels of Death'...........

It was a dark and stormy night.  The rally attendees were bored.  They were also mostly drunk.   They were taking turns doing laps around the parking lot of the motel they were staying in, on a 23cc, 2 stroke powered scooter, some irresponsible person had provided.
During the day, these riders piloted 100HP steeds, but the 1.5 HP scooter proved to be tricky!

There were a few close calls, then the scooter earned it's name!
It bucked and pitched a rally attendee, sending him to the doctors office, and putting a temporary halt to his riding for a while.

The 'WOD' has seen duty in the infield at several racetracks.   It remains difficult to ride, and prone to 'bite' when you're not paying attention.

I also donate, along with the "Ugly Mug Mug", a spankin' new, still in the original packaging, 14T sproket for a 1200.  You may call it the "Your bike seems as if it could use a little help getting your big butt down the road" award....I'll probably win that back too....

well, I'm 'cheaping out', but that's a good thing!
Instead of coffee cups, I can have Cafepress.com make up 4.5 inch tile coasters with various titles.   This will be less than half the cost of the mugs, and I can do more of them.
The tiles look pretty good, and you can glue a hanger on the back to place it on the wall, or just use it 'as is' for a  coaster type thing.
(Have a BanditAlley one at my computer desk under my coffee)
