Pete, I'm trying to figure out how I can get enough shit on my bike to camp wednesday. Don't know if I can do it, I'm also trying to find a hotel room fairly cheap as I won't have to bring as much stuff then. I saw you had posted somebody coming had gotten a room at the blue ridge motel, do you know what there rates are?

I've got a couple of extra tents, Josh.  I'm bringing one Huge one, that has two separate sides.
I'll be using my 'medium' tent....
Mike K,  (speedtriple) will be using one side of the big one.
I'm not sure the other side is claimed, yet.   You're welcome to use the other side Weds night, If you can haul your sleeping bag.

I think the motel up the street is around $40 or so.

I won't be making this one. I was excited about the rally being held in Virginia and was looking forward to seeing everyone. I was planning on making this a 4000+ mile trip on mostly back roads in 9 or 10 days. I hope everyone has a good time. I will try to make the next one.

The 'Boss' rally is our annual rally, held somewhere in the southeast mountains.

(Boss stands for Bandit owners Southern Stampede, or something..)

We'll have 40-70 people, most bandit owners or 'exes', and get some partying and riding in.

It's coming up next weekend....May 13-15, and is at Willville Bike Camp, Meadows of Dan, VA.

That's kind of close to Wytheville, Galax, Hillsville, VA.........and hour and a half south of Roanoke....an hour east of Danville.
It's about 20 miles east of I-77 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

There's more info in the 'rally' forums....

Me and Brantley will be at Deals Gaps Tuesday night and then riding the area north of Asheville on Wednesday and spending Wednesday night in the Blowing Rock area. We will roll on over to Willville Thursday morning and we should be at the Campground mid afternoon. We're staying at the Tuggles Gap Motel at Hwy 8 and the BRP.

I'll be working in Steubenville through the week. I'll be tiling a new McDs.If anyone is coming down that way on the way to Willsville, give me a ring and take off a 1/2 day or so to ride along for awhile. Dan

No Rally for Me
« Reply #26 on: May 09, 2005, 04:33:36 PM »
I'm not going to be able to make this rally. I've been working on getting the Bandit ready for the last month, new tires, used givi bags and I had a friend adjust the valves. When my friend adjusted the valves he stripped out one the bolt holes for one of the 8 large head bolts that hold done the valve cover. So, now the bandit has an oil leak and this is a problem that I'm not sure is going to be easy to fix. This Really Sucks. Hope to see you guys sometime.

Throw some hi temp silicone on it and let it ride. J/K

If it's possible to get to it at all you should be able to put a helicoil in there and you'll be good to go.

Banditnek - That is too ironic.  I've been sweating the exact same thing for the last few days.   :duh:   This morning, I found a machinist to put a helicoil in (for a small fortune).  I REALLY didn't think I would make it.  I may not get much sleep between now and then (and my neighbors might not appreciate me synching my carbs in the middle of the night) but I will be there.  Whew!
