'08 Bandit 1250 Introduced
« on: October 10, 2007, 02:26:05 PM »
On the Global Suzuki site. Looks like the same bike as the '07 with a new silver color choice. Don't know when it'll arrive in the U.S., but I'm guessing soon as they run out of '07's.

Well, whaddya know... just checked the Suzuki U.S. site and the '08 Bandit is now officially available:

http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSF1250SK8/Default.aspx

The new silver color looks great:

Thing is, it seems that silver and blue are the only two colors for '08... glad I got my black '07!

Good news indeed!  The previous posts that indicated it might not be a US release in '08 had me a little concerned.  Thanks for the update.

Non-ABS in Blue or Grey (didn't we have a war between those two colors?   )
ABS in Black.

No red for the US in '08.

I was really hoping they'd paint the engine black this year. Oh well, it took Yamaha a few years to learn the FZ1 looked better with a black powerplant. Maybe Suzuki is just as slow on the uptake.

Just like with the 600 vs the 1200, I like the silver engine with the silver (or grey) and black bikes, but would prefer a black engine with the red or blue bikes.

For those that don't know, the 2nd gen 600's had silver (or gun metal grey) engines and the 1200's had black engines. For the W/C 3rd gen, both the 650 and 1250 have silver engines (in the '07 line in Canada).

Regardless, I'm glad to see the 1200 still in the US line. No indication on the Suzuki Canada site of any '08 introductions yet.

I already have an '08 Black (ABS) lined up with my dealer. He expects them to be on the floors late Feb/Early march.

I've heard the '07s were a testbed and they secretly perfected the '08s without publicly announcing the changes.   :stickpoke:  That being the case, your information can't even remotely be considered credible.

That new silver bike looks REALLY good, with the silver frame and engine... don't know if I've ever seen that look before. It's completely metallic all over.

Makes me want to buy it so I'd have a black one and a silver one.  :bandit:

I can cut you a good deal on an '02-600. Silver on Silver, just like you want... :bandit:

Maybe we can work a trade

That new color is gorgeous! Looks like the liquid silver of my 2001 FZ1. Nice!

I like the double-bubble windshield that they say in new for 2008.

Thanks for the heads-up, SteelD. Suzuki Canada will get around to putting that info on their website....oh.....about mid 2009....or maybe never!!! :taz: What a bunch of twits !!! "Marketing" is just another 3 syllable word to them !!! Wankers !!!
I'm going to bounce that number off my preferred local dealer tomorrow and see if it shows up on Suzuki Canada's computer. Here's hoping.....

Same here in the UK. The national Suzuki organisations seem to be in a dream world of their own. Suzuki products sell themselves so they don't appear to bother. With a bit of effort, I'm sure they could make accessories more readily available and promote Suzuki much better but they appear not to be bothered.

I asked Suzuki GB about a touring screen for the 1250 and their response was very much along the lines of "we have no plans as we don't think there is much demand" - it just goes to show how well they know their market - zilch! They don't seem to care. I suppose this is why you pay a premium for BMW and Harley - they are more customer-focussed and have good post-sales backup. Suzuki doesn't seem to care.
