Ok. People here we go again. As I'm out here looking around on the net I'm seeing something I'm not sure about. OK I know I have a GSF 1200 S but what is this 1200 K? When Jim out there looking does it matter if I order a part for the 1200 S or the 1200 K or are they the same? Sorry if I'm asking silly things I do not mean to look as dum as I may seam bear with me if you will. :duh:
Thanks
Eddie

I thought it was a 1200s and a 1200 - the 1200s being clothed and the 1200 being naked.
The only 1200K I know off is a Big Money Waster (BMW).
Maybe one of the guru's knows something I don't, which wouldn't be hard.

My 1997 model is a 1200S but is a 'V'. Sometimes dealers ask for this additional id. I think Bike Bandit, Ron Ayers list it as well.
1997=v
1998=w
1999=x
2000=Y
2001=K1
2002=K2
2003=K3
2004=K4
But you probabally allready knew that much. :wink:

I never knew that myself. I just checked my registration for my '05 1200S and it says "GSF1200ZK5". I wonder if the Z is a typo.

Most likely, it's a typo of omission.
If your '05 is the white & blue special edition with a fairing, it's a GSF1200SZK5. If it's a naked special edition, it would be a GSF1200ZK5.
The Z is a designator for the special edition paint.

Is it just me or is all this sounding a little like the HD model numbers
