any of you got any ideas how to get rid of the stock headlight and trick it out to get a 2gen look?
-
There's a guy over at Max-Suz that swapped a 2G fairing onto a 1G. You'd have to ask him for any details. IIRC, it involved a bit of bracket fabbing.
-
One of the European suppliers was selling a two headlight insert that fit into the original space in the 1 gen bandit fairing. They looked more like small projection beams.....
Probably was WilD Hare Accessories........in Phoenix.
-
Yes, it was... but it hasn't been on their site in a couple years. They weren't projectors tho - just a pair of small sealed beams like the early GSXR has - and the GS1200SS.
-
You're right, don't see it, now. May still be available, elsewhere.

I think this is what I was thinking of.......at Motorad Bach.
Click on Bandit 600/1200, and look at the bottom of the page.

That's the one I was thinking of, too.
If I had a 1G, that piece would be on it! I really like that look.
-
Me too!
-
I love that old Gix twin light look! :bigok:
-
AAAWWW: What'd yah have to show that for? Now I've got to spend more money! :stop:
-
Love the look too. Have e-mailed them to see if they will ship to Oz. Have no idea if they understand a word of english if their translated web site is anything to go by.
-
i`m in on a group buy !!! that is SWEEET
-
E-mail was returned as invalid. Maybe I was right, they don't speak english.
-
You could try contacting Irfan @ Wild Hair and see if he can still get stuff from Motorrad-Bach...
Info@whaccessories.com
He may have dropped their stuff from his page if it was a slow seller... but he seems to take pride in being a dealer in German-made parts, so Motorrad-Bach fits that bill.
-
Motorrad list 3 different e-mail addresses.
1 info@motorrad bach.de
2 info@motorrad-bach.de
3 motorrad-bach@t-online.de
No1 was returned, No.3 has not been returned yet, No2 I haven't tried yet.
Nos. 1 & 2 were on the translated site, No.3 was on the original German site.
I can't find an agent in Oz.
-
Yeah, Irfan did a group buy for the 400 guys a couple of years ago.
That might not be a 'Motorad Bach' item, but is made by some other European company, and just sold by them.
If somebody is really interested, you could contact Irfan, and see if he can get them, how many, and how much.
-
Glad you guys also like the headlight modification...
I have the double headlight now for 2 years. (from motorrad Bach)
Looks nice, works great!
However, please note that is uses two 35/40Watt bulbs, not the 55/60Watt.
It gives me plenty of light an night, but caused some "replacement hassle" when I needed a new bulb. The local car and bike shops do not have them.
And since the housing is completely plastic, I do not think a 55W works well, at least not for a reasonable amount of time...
Ciao!
Mario

So Mario, where did you end up finding one ? I've got the same setup (from Wild Hair) and I haven't had to replace a bulb yet, but it might be a good idea to have a couple of spares, just to ensure that I never need to replace one .......... Oh, here's a pic of mine...... I tried to post it in this thread, but for some reason, I created a whole new thread...... Cheers !! Les

Les,
To be honest,...I ordered via Louis.de, a(the biggest?) german mail-order company for motorcycle related stuff.
Since the unit came from Germany , I thought they may have some bulbs for it over there . And I was right. It took them just over a week to get the 3 (better be safe than sorry..) bulbs in my mailbox.
Ciao!
Mario

Thanks Mario, I'm going to order some ..... Cheers !! Les
