2007-08 1250 Owners Need a Small Favor Please!
« on: March 12, 2008, 12:20:43 AM »
The Clutch lever on my 2007 Bandit seems to have no adjustment and is very far from the grip to pull. I tried the adjuster wheel and there is NO difference in ANY position.

Can you 1250 owners measure with a tape from the middle of the ball at the end of the lever to the end of the grip??  Mine is 5 1/2" from there.
And from the middle of the lever to the middle/center of the grip is 4 1/4"

If you could post THOSE TWO measurments I'd apprecialte it.

I called SUZUKI and they said they measured the Bandit they have there and it's the same way, but I talked to someone else and they said there distance was much shorter.

I have average sized hands but I just barely grap the clutch lever with my finger tips and I'm used to a shorter throw.....If they're all like that I'll live with it but I sat on a BUsa which has the SAME clutch set up and it was much closer to the bars.

Thanks Again for the measurements!

The lever is adjustable, there is a numbered knob at the pivot point, turn it to bring the lever closer to the grip

Guess I should have posted that I tried the adjuster but tthere is NO difference in ANY position (I'll edit the first post)......it's not the adjuster though, as I've changed levers and it's STILL the same way, no adjustment with the 1 to 4 position adjuster.
It has to be something with the clutch asymbley itself.

But I need to know if everyones is like this so I can compare.

There was a recent topic that oddly seems similar to yours.

I realize it isn't exactly you're problem but it sounds like maybe the clutch levers are further out than people are used to, and evidently the adjuster does nothing.

If you could post THOSE TWO measurments I'd apprecialte it.

Middle of lever ball to end of grip is 4 1/2"
Middle of lever to middle of grip is 3"

The above is the measurement on position 4 of the aduster, I remeasured after switching to position 1 with the following measurement

Middle of lever ball to grip end is 4 3/4"
Middle of lever to middle of grip was 3 1/4

So the position adjuster is in fact useless only bringing in the lever 1/4" to 1/2" between the 1 and 4 position.

Hope that helps.

I don't think I had the same issue with the clutch level not being adjustable, but I got PAZZO short levers to replace the stock ones and I like it much better on my 07 Bandit.

Thanks....When I'm on ANY position it's at least an inch farther out than yours and for me grabbing the lever, an inch is a lot.  SUZUKI called me back and asked me to take it to the dealer again to see what they think.....I'm going to see if the dealer will ask Suzuki to replace the clutch asymbley.....something in there isn't working right.
One thing I forgot to mention the clutch lever is also a harder pull than another 2007 Bandit I looked at so maybe that's part of whatever is wrong with the asymbley.

ANYONE else with some measurements?

At 51 use of my hands and some joints and tendons are barely starting to feel small pain under certain stresses from ware and tear, example I had no choice but to switch to a twist throttle on my quad as my thumb tendon got partially parallelized until receiving allot of cortisone shots (ouch ouch ouch) but never worked the same. Point is that although the B1250 clutch lever gives me no problem today, it will eventually be almost impossible for some people mostly older to use and there are also thousands born with genetic arthritis starting in there teens. I suppose if I ever gets that bad I will just switch to an automatic transmission and foot controls as I will probubly be riding until 90 unless someone stops me.
