Title: 2007 Bandit 650... No more after this year :(
Post by: Alexanderr on October 15, 2007, 06:04:43 PM
I have been reading a lot on these boards about the 1250, but very little on the 650.

I know the 650 has been totally updated, same as bigger brother, but with much less fanfare.  Not to mention this is the last year for her, in 2008 she morphs into a crotch rocket.

Brit reviews for this bike are pretty good.  Does anyone here have one?  And if you do, what do you think of it???

I just bought a new 2006 Bandit 650S a couple of weeks ago. I've only managed to put on about 230 kms as the weather has been cold and rain for days now. I switched from my 2004 Marauder VZ800 to the Bandit 650S and so far I'm liking the bike very much.

I have a rear seat cowl cover and a tinted screen on the way already. Just can't leave things alone for long.

Thanks Steve for the feedback on the 2006.

I just checked the US Suzuki site and noticed there was Not a single 2007 Bandit 650 in sight.

Is 2006 the last year of the Bandit 650 in the US?

I don't think the Bandit 650 was ever sold in the US.

That is a correct. The US never got the B6.5. IIRC, the 600 was dropped from the US line-up, too. I think '03 was the last year we got the B6.

I think you're confusing two different bikes, because the 650 Bandit is still around for 2008. Semi-faired or naked depending on market, and still not available in the U.S.

EFI and a water-cooled engine was introduced for 2007, same as for the 1250.

For 2008 there is another full-fairing midweight in Suzuki's roster, called the GSX650F. It seems to be a replacement for the Katana.

Its good to see that the middleweight Bandit is going to stick around and remain a Bandit

The Bandit is still coming to Canada, but the question was whether or not it was available in the US.

Well, the original post was from a Canadian, we just got off-track a little and discussed the (non-)availibity in the US.

The new "crotch rocket" 650 is to replace the old Katana GSX600F/750F. It appears to be nothing more than a fully faired B650.
