600 vs 1200 in the '97 vintage
« on: June 18, 2010, 10:45:17 PM »
Are some items interchangable? I've been poking around the webernet for rear luggage carriers for a top case and have come across this http://www.giviusa.com/My-motorcycle/?ma=SUZUKI&mo=GSF-1200-Bandit-96--99. The PDF for the 511f shows the installation for an 600s. Did they maintain the same frame and body panels for both models?

The frames aren't exactly the same, for instance, the 1G 600's pillion pegs are welded to the frame while the 1200's bolt on, but for the purposes of aftermarket luggage, they are the same.  The only differences in the bodywork between them is the colors they came in and the decals applied.

This is good to know, great to know actually. Doubles my searching results for the most part when it comes to replacements. I'm considering using the red frame as an accent colour and going black on the plastics/tank, adding red here and there as accent pieces. I'm not overly mechanical but changing out body parts or bolting on new ones fall with in my ability, just don't ask me to tune a set of carbs or change a clutch  :yikes:
