First time I laid my 1200 down, I was pulling into a parking space, not fully paying attention, turned my stearing to the left then, just like in slow motion went over on it's right side.  Yes, I was lucky it didn't land on my leg (that happened to me on a Honda 400 2 years ago and needed help to get it off my unbroken leg, but broken pride!...   Seems you really do get used to moving and keeping it balanced like a gyro.  I was suprised that I was actually able to lift it back up..  Now I got black smoke coming from the right front of the engine block near the exhaust pipe.  I left it with my mechanic.
Just bought a rebuilt '98 Bandit 1200S.  Love riding around the mountains and forests of northern Thailand a rider's paradise!

As with Paul (Red01) I've just gotten the NRC covers.  They're incredibly made and TOUGH!  Thick casting...these covers are required by race sanctioning bodies.

Got them from http://www.ronayers.com/index.cfm  Also go under OEM Parts and check out the microfiche....all the parts diagrams for the Bandit you'll ever need.

I got mine from APE Racing - they're a little cheaper than Ron Ayers for the NRC covers - and you get a cool catalog full of hi-po parts to drool over.
