Post by: keenu on September 29, 2005, 07:58:18 PM
Anyone ever weld a back rest bracket onto the optional luggage rack??
My O.L. wont ride until I get one(Too many wheelies).I dont wanna buy the top dollar seat with backrest.I figure I can get the bracket welded on.I can make my own Back Pad,etc....
Just wondering if anyone has suggestions??

Thanks  Spider Joe

If you've got a 2G Bandit, there's the Holeshot backrest and/or luggage rack option:

Yes, I'd go Holeshot definitely unless you're interested in a topcase with back pad like mine.

I welded together a backrest and top case rack for my bike.

Still working great, although my top box was a cheap no-name $40 used box that is slowly falling apart.   Will invest in a name brand next year.

Nathan,

Very nice job!  Did you fab the hand guards as well?

Thanks.

The right hand guard if from the Vstrom, and the left is from a DR650 (cable version clutch)

They both need little modification to fit. The DR650 is shiny black and the DL is flat black textured. but they are close enough for me.
