Improving the 1250

Well, there's talk of the '08 model which I suspect will be hardly changed apart from maybe colours.

However, longer term I'd like the following:

* Bigger tank (fewer stops to fill up)
* Bigger radiator for better cooling (reduce fan coming on in traffic)
* Better front fender (so I don't need to buy an extenda)
* Temp gauge in display
* Gear indicator in display
* More space under seat
* Better headlight as stock (haven't done much riding in the dark but it does seem feeble)
* Slightly wider mirrors (to see more of what's behind me and less of my elbows)

These are minor niggles rather than major annoyances and I'm sure I'll find more as the miles rack up. However, these issues wouldn't stop me buying the bike again given the same circumstances.

Thoughtful list Steeld

I don't understand why ALL motorcycles don't come with the following:

Minimum 5 gal gas tank
A good loud horn
Bright headlights
Gear indicator in guages
Automatic turn signal cancelling
A tolerable seat
2 Helmet locks
Adjustable hand levers, handlebars and footpegs (front and rear)
Readily accessible oil and air filters
Adjustable suspension capable of carrying driver and a passenger
Numerous bungie tie down bungs
Usable mirrors

You'd think with all the technology available today these things would be a given

A few things I would like to see:

Better seat
Wider mirrors
More bungee tie-downs
Self cancelling signals
LED tail and indicator lights
Gear indicator
Smaller muffler :shock:

I have ridden at night with the stock headlight and it is decent. Much better than my old 83 GS.
