here's some reading material for you:

http://forums.banditalley.net/viewtopic.php?t=197

(The above two are in the 400/250 section, but they use the same candidates for swapping as the bigger Bandits and have the same length steering stem, so what applies to them, applies to the bigger ones, too.)

This one has some pictures of the mods done to the triples to make the steering stops and ignition switch fit in a GSXR1100 set of triples.

Consider the longer GSXR1100 & early '90's GSXR750 USD fork. The newer GSXR's & Busa forks are quite a bit shorter than the B12 fork, where the older GSXR's are about the same.

FYI: I just got a set of '92 GSXR750 forks, and they are a full 1.5" shorter than the stock '01 B12 forks.  The stem on the GSXR forks is also shorter, so will have to be swapped for the Bandit one.  I'm confused over all this.

There's lots of info on fork swaps all over this board - and some of it is a little contradicting.  I'm not complaining, it's been a great help, I'd just like to see a definitive FAQ on it with  some factual measurements.

What do you think?  I'll start a new thread with some specific measurements and start a table that will clarify some of this.  Thoughts?

the more you have of the front end your bolting on the better
i need a speedo cos the early bandit is run of front wheel and busa not  :duh:
top yolk conversion from clip ons to straightbars  :duh:
front muddy  :duh:
head light brackets and different light  :duh:
lock stops making up for bottom yolk  :duh:
its all the little thing that take time and more cash
but worth it in the end  :bandit:

I've got an acewell.  Making a bracket for the speedo pickup was a PITA, but otherwise I really like it.

LSL makes a bolt on for the Busa...Although it looks like later Busa's will allow the risers from the bandit to be bolted on...no?

I have LSL Miglights on my current setup.  All I have to do is shell out for new brackets ($80!).

Of course all this after I rework the forks and have them anodized.  It's getting expensive!
