I just bought a 1996 GSF600S (year code: T).
The tyres on the bike are 110/70/17 front & 150/70/17 rear which are correct according to the owners manual.
Both front & rear tyres are Bridgestone BT45's.
The rim sizes are 3.00x17" front & 4.50x17" rear.
I want to fit wider, sportier tyres, preferably 120/60/17 front & 160/60/17 rear. I know the rear wont be a problem as the recommended rim for a 160/60/17 tyre is 4.50x17".
But what about the front, where the recommended rim for a 120/60/17 tyres is 3.50x17".

You can run that combo, and plenty of B6 owners do, but the wider tires will slightly slow the B6's handling down. The one advantage the 6 has over the 12.

There is a good selection of sporty tires in a 110. I know I had a 110 Pilot Power on my B4. Aesthetically, the wider front doesn't make that much difference, IMHO.
If you don't like the change in handling, you can compensate by raising the rear or dropping the front a little.
