Title: busa install on 05 bandit, might have caused some problems?
Post by: rspector on July 23, 2006, 08:41:13 PM
I put the busa shock mod into my 05 bandit 1200s, install went fine, I also put a diablo strada on the back the same time I did the shock. Now at about 100 mph to 115 I get slight head shake out of the bike, could that be the shock and if so maybe adjusting the rake  would fix this problem?  it does it on accell and decell. Dunno just got a new front tire as well didn't fix the problem any advice would be greatly appreciated.
 Thanks
  Rob

Since the Busa shock is longer than the stock shock, that does not surprise me.

Well... I've had mine up to an indicated 155+ a couple of times and over 100 frequently and never had an issue... and my Busa shcok has been on there for 30K miles and 3 years. (And no front suspension tweaks.)

You might want to double check your head bearings, tire pressures and suspension settings. If all that's fine, THEN consider lowering it back to stock.

I'm running a Busa shock and a Strada on the back of my '03 12 and have had no problems at all.

As suggested have a look up front for any possible problems.

Is your preload on the rear shock set really stiff?  Also have you lowered your front forks at all?
