OK - IT'S TIME FOR A NEW FRONT TYRE
« on: October 26, 2006, 08:53:20 AM »
It's time to replace the front tyre - shyte - here we go again.

So, I've tried the Macadam (came with the bike as OEM), basically the less said about the Macadam on the front of B12's the better.

The last 2 fronts have been Metzler M1's - absolutely love 'em to death.

I suppose I'm sort of middle of the road when it comes to tyres - I like a front tyre that grips well in all weather conditions, but because I ride everyday I need a tyre that is going to last a bit more than 5000km.  I've got roughly 11,000km out of the front M1 (only got 5000km from the M1 rear).  So I'd like something similar

But, I've been hearing good thinks about the Pilot Sport and the Pilot Road - anyone got any opinions (stupid question of course you all have opinions).

Ok, I got neither the Pilot Road or the Pilot Sport - the shop had neither in a 120/70.....so what did I end up getting - well I decided that rather than try something different - I've put another M1 on - Well what can I say, 11,000km out of what is essentially a sports tyre, can't complain about that.

I just installed Metzler Z6 tires on my bike and love them so far.  I have been hearing a lot of praise on the pilot powers on how well they stick and last.

I been through a couple of BT020's and am now on a set of Pilot Roads. Only 3000 kms so far, and won't be able to put any more miles on until March (or even April?). I like the Pilot Roads so far though.

I took my last rear(Pilot Road) to the Dragon and had no issues at all.  In Texas, I've had them do a minor slip a few times on those roads.
