i wanna swap my front calipers on my 1st gen b12 i have seen where the 2nd gens have better brakes and it is a bolt on swap. why are they better? what else will swap?

The 2nd Gen are 3-pad design vs. the 1st Gen 2-pad.
There are many Suzuki models that share the same 3-pad brakes, including the Hayabusa and some GSXR's I believe.
However, I personally would invest the money in stainless steel brake lines and good (Carbone Lorraine or DP) brake pads. Your 2-pad brakes with those upgrades would be better than my 3-pad 2nd Gen brakes without 'em.

Actually, both the 1G & 2G B12 calipers use 2 pads per caliper. The difference is the 1G B12 has 4-piston calipers and the 2G B12 has 6-piston calipers.
(The 3G B12 & 4G B12.5 have 4-piston calipers, too.)

I think he meant 3 piston pads compared to 2 pistons pads.

I think we're both right, but Red is more accurate in the actual difference between them.
Still think the s/s lines & pads would be a better investment though.

I agree, that is the route I would go. Also notice that they don't use the six pot brakes anymore either.

Absolutely, my old G1 with softer pads (I'll have to check what I ended up changing to) and stainless braided lines stops even better than it already did in the first place.

have to agree. i added s.s lines and the Carbone Lorraine bake pads.
STOPIES

I swapped my 1st gen calipers for Hayabusa takeoffs that I got from Ebay for $25.00
They worked perfectly. And much cheaper than getting the braided hoses.
Huge difference in braking.

And FWIW - these are the same calipers the 2G B12 comes with. Several other bikes used 'em, too, including some Kawasaki's - and the Kawi calipers often came in gold instead of black.
