Got the Mirrors with turn signals built in, and added the "S" emblem from the 05 models.

It looks uber cool. :congrats:
How's the ride?
Where are you placing the inspection sticker?
-Rick
-
Not sure about the inspection sticker yet. I am thinking the inside of the swingarm, or the back of the license plate bracket. I had a friend that just kept his in the trunk of his bike. I know you are not supposed to do that, but - oh well. I think half the cops out there don't even know that.
-
Absolutely stunning!
She looks really good
:congrats:
-
is the subframe the orig or is it an r1 or custom?
-
Nice. I like the Speed Triple-ish look of the front.
-
The subframe is an original r1 subframe with modified mounting tabs., and then powdercoated.
-
I like it! :congrats:
AWESOME!!!
Small point -if possible- of improvement..?
Move the exhaust up a bit closer to the seat.
Sorry....... again, its an absolutely awesome bike. :bigok:

Hey deepink,
How do you like those mirrors? Do they work (can you see anything)? Did you end up getting them from tha guy on Ebay? Also how did you route the turn signal wires to hide them.
I have to say it again. Your bike turned out super sweet!
-
I believe that is a fine example of a Streetfighter. It definitely belongs in the Streetfighter magazine. In fact, you should submit these shots to them. They might come out for a photo shoot.
-
Which bike are the forks originally from?
I am looking at a fork transplant and am after a USD fork.
-
Very intimidating looking, bad to the bone, like its speeding just sitting there, waiting for a fight.

Need an update on how you like the mods... Tell us how you are liking the mods.

I am enjoying every aspect of this rebuild. I have only had one issue, and it is probably more related to having to remove the entire engine.
I have a head gasket oil leak. Just waiting for the cold of winter to actually repair it.
The bike rides great, tracks great, and is comfortable... I was really worried about the comfort with the inverted fork and clip ons over the risers. But it is great.
Stinkypalm - the forks are from 94 gsx-r. Bandit stem can be pressed into the triple clamps.
-
How much does the GSX-R forks lighten up the front? I've been wanting to do the same if it rids of unsprung weight on the front.
-
That's a good question. I didn't weigh the forks before install. I would guess that they weigh less, but they are 12 years old, rebuilt or not, I doubt they are as light as a set of forks from a more recent gsx-r.
I have been waiting for a free weekend to take the bike to a truck scale. The nearest public scale is about 40 miles away, and I just have not been able to get away with the remodels on the house every weekend.
I'll post here as soon as I have that data.

Sweet!
