Title: Flush Mount Turn Signals
Post by: Kamzilla on March 11, 2005, 12:27:27 PM
Hey guys,

I'm looking to replace the OEM turn signals on my 1GB6.  Does anyone have any pics of various models that they could send me or perhaps post up?

I've been looking at the various offerings from Lockhart Phillips and vendors on EBay...

Kamil,

I got these from Rumble Imports on Ebay.  They were a great vendor to work with but I would not recommend these particular signals.  I didn't notice it when I was installing them (too stressed out about drilling my plastic, I guess) but the base that holds the bulbs were not straight.  The bulbs rest against the lens and have melted the lenses.  I suppose that had I noticed it, I could have straightened them out.  You can actually see the spot in the pic.

Thanks for posting that up.  I was actually looking at the same signals this morning.

What's your take on these:  http://tinyurl.com/5aojh   and   http://tinyurl.com/5uqzs

I've just installed these to my 1GB6, I really like em, very easy to fit as the unit is a direct replacement for the stock rear panel. It comes with indicators and bulbs (correct wattage) you just fix your existing brake light into the slot.

Of course they're from a UK vendor! Probably no help at all  :duh:

See it and other options at http://www.banditmania.co.uk/Stainless.htm, they're at the bottom.

Banditmania will ship to the USA...
They also offer up a twin tail light conversion piece with the same kind of signals as above:

I like those first ones a lot.  Those LP ones are very popular.  They're a little bulky for my tastes.  I had very little choices b/c that part of my tail is so narrow.

Man - those Banditmania taillights are cool!   :bigok:

Thanks for your help and input guys.  I think I'll just go with those Cyclone signals, as I like the design and it won't be too expensive to do.

My bike was knocked over by a parking car a while back and my right turn signal was bent in such a way that it cracked a piece of the fairing off.  I completely forgot about this, so before I install the new signals, I have to put some epoxy and replace the little missing piece of fairing, then paint it over.  I hope it comes out okay.

I'll post pics when it's done.

I got these off of ebay, they were only about $20.00

3 VERY bright yellow LEDS each.  They are hardly noticeable until you turn them on.  They are bright even in direct sunlight.

I want to get rid of my stock blinkers to so my Cortech saddle bags fit the way i want them to (under the seat and as far back as possible) and need some ideas as to how to relocate them.  I’m hoping for something a bit cheaper than the set up from Banditmania.  I really like what Chevsuz12 did but I cannot seem to find a LED setup that small.  (were they originally a filament bulb replacement that you wired up or a sealed cluster with leads?  Also, you called them HID LED's in another thread, I haven’t been able to find much information on them).  Anyway, any ideas would be appreciated.
