Fuel Gauge does not work after changing Air Filter
« on: July 22, 2007, 11:41:09 PM »
Subject pretty much says it all.  Changed the air filter today which involves lifting the gas tank.  I managed to accidentally disconnect the fuel line and spilled some gas if that is relevant.  Got everything back together (e.g. connected black tube with metal rings to the fuel spout under the tank) and took a short ride.  I now notice that the fuel gauge isn't working.  I added fuel before the ride so I know it has gas but the gauge reads completely empty.  I am guessing I bumped something when moving the gas tank around to get at the air filter.  I was pretty ginger with everything so I can't imagine I *smashed* anything.

Any suggestions for common first things to check.  As always, thanks in advance

Disregard ...  I was just reading redryder's post here ... http://forums.banditalley.net/viewtopic.php?t=9345

... and it reminded me of a connection that I saw but did not actually disconnect myself.  Took another look and found where it connects.

His post didn't show up in my search :duh: but it helped just the same.  Thanks
