Has any one made one to fit or any mod to over come this problem. Could realy do with a fuel guage. Any help?

How badly do you want it?
If you got the tank (with sending unit), gauge and wiring from a B12, it should be pretty easy to do. Not necessarily cheap though.

I also thought about adding a fuel guage, but read about how the accuracy is off just like a car when you accelerate, brake, turn, going uphill, downhill. Also I read some of the bandit 1200 owners still use the reserve setting and trip OD to know when to start looking for fuel anyways.
I decided it wasn't worth it at all. It would still do it if I could find the parts for real cheap though.

I've got a Gen 1 B6 and would like a gauge also but with the cost, not worth it. I've never had a bike with a gauge so I've learned to adapt. Most of my rides are on my favorite loops and I've got my gas stops planned. Use your trip meter. When you fill up zero it out, when you go over a hundred miles or so top off. Make sure your fuel petcock is in the "on" position and not reserve. That way you have a warning. You probably have 30 or so miles on reserve.

i asked a couple of peolpe that have b12's and they said the fuel gauge tells lies :duh: as someone said earlyer in here its best to use the od i know i can do 120-140 miles (without using the reserve) b4 i need to fill up my b6 :motorsmile:

I thought most B6s got in the range of 45-50 mpg. The tank is 5 gallons, right? With like 1.2 in reserve? Just making sure that I have this right and everyone is erring on the side of caution.

well i dont like to run short of fuel best to run on the side of caution as you dont wana be pushing the bike to get petrol ive been there and done that in the past with a kmx 125 and the bandit 600 is heaver lol

I now get 43-48 mpg. A year ago I was lucky to get as high as 43 mpg.
I hit reserve between 155-170 miles then I have about 1.2 gallons left, but I find a gas station as soon as possible.

Mine's about the same but I don't push it much anymore. I did once to see how far it would go and it hit reserve in a bad part of South Seattle and it was dark outside, not good. I had no idea how far reserve would take me so I frantically looked for a gas station. Made it to the airport and gassed her up. Not a good feeling.

when i first got the bike i ran it untill it ran out, felt such a dick, pushing the bike up hill to the service station, if luck would have it about 80m when it stopped.

I would consider my gauge very accurate. As soon as I notice the sputter it reads exactly 'E' and the odometer is alway 110 miles. Kinda spooky.
