I've long since taken the grab rail off my '01 B12 and am streetfightering it out. Im left with 2 nasty chunks in my tail where the grab rail attached but i cant find any kits or even homemade solutions. Im tempted to see if i can reverse the bolt so it mounts via the inside of the subframe, allowing me to fill and smooth the hole with something.
Suggestions /solutions / ideas / witty banter?
:beers: :thanks:

BanditMania, in the UK (http://www.banditmania.co.uk/other_bodywork.htm) offers what they call "Saddle Shutters" that do that. They run £25.89 for color matched ones and £19.41 for unpainted ones. These prices include 17.5% tax, which residents outside the UK & EU don't have to pay.

Much like the US ones, those are only for G1 bandits. I emailed them :(
I dont wanna replace my whole tail to get rid of some holes

The pic I posted above is of their 2G covers. 1G covers would have two plates per side, not one.
Here's the quote from their blurb about them:
Part Number: 609.(COLOUR)BANDIT
SADDLE SHUTTERS. '00- BANDITS COLOUR CODED. GETS RID OF THE GRAB RAIL
Note that is says from "00-" which would mean from 2000 - up. The B6 2G starts with the 2000 model year. Whoever emailed you they didn't have 2G ones is either wrong, or they've discontinued the 2G covers. I'd contact them again and ask about that specific p/n.

Thats odd. Hrmm... well i guess i dont know all the gen numbers and whatnot. I sent an email that specifically asked about 2001 B12 and i just got a response that says 'We only have them for the mk2 model.'
That doesnt sound like a 'We have them for your bike' type answer... you sure? I wanna be positive before i pay shipping ect
-
LOL - sounds like they are just as confused as you. Mk2 is Brit-speak for the second generation, so they DO have them for your bike.

oh snap! ill order them today then! been looking for those forever!
THanks for the info bro! :beers:

I received my 'saddle shutters' last week, and they are in fact the right ones. The fit leaves alot to be desired though. They will need to be sanded down heavily to be flush with the rest of the tail. Either way, no more gaping holes in the tail! :beers:
