Title: Getting Ready to Polish Wheels...Back Wheel Removal?
Post by: tatea on May 02, 2006, 12:46:26 PM
1997 Bandit600s

I am going to attempt to polish my wheels this weekend...(inspired by other posts).

Can anyone tell me how to remove the back wheel...
also how many ft/lbs of torque are required for the bolts that go back on the front and back?

another question: is there an integrated turnsignal kit for the G1B6?  Also I would like to install an undertail kit...is that possible?

Thanks for the help guys

Put it on the center stand, disconnect the brake caliper torque arm, loosen the axle nut, loosen the chain adjusters, remove the chain, remove the axle, roll the wheel away.

For torques - and any future work, download a copy of the service manual from the Members section, then you'll always have it.

Make a note of which way the wheel spacers were oriented too.... a sketch or digital pic will do wonders.  I know the B-12 spec is 72 ft. lbs.
