No but.... along with the seat cowl, they make a good start. I like it!

I'm sure that Yosh, unless it's a stock can in Yosh clothing, won't pass US DOT (not that they'd ever bring that bike here anyway).

Well, what exactly is a street-fighter? What makes it different from any other street bike?

As I understand it, it seems to be a naked bike that has a decent engine and looks agressive. It seems to be very much the equivalent of a modern café racer only with upright bars and no fairing though a small flyscreen seems to be acceptable (not that they stop too many flies from hitting you!

I believe the true definition is a sportbike without it's fairing, set up for hooligan antics (such antics are often the reason the plastic went missing and it went 'naked' to save money).

Just as with the chopper crowd, some will argue that a true streetfighter cannot be made by an OEM and is a product of an individual's customization.

I'm not too sure about the exact defintion of "Streetfighter" but I definitely like the idea of a naked 1250 model.

I love my 02 naked and prefer that model to the faired S version. I wonder if the naked 1250 will come to the USA.

Now that I think of it, the term "Streetfighter" sounds like something make up by a marketing department.

When I was a kid, a streetbike that was done on a standard frame with real shocks but stripped of all nonessentials was called a "mild custon". These understated bikes were what real hard-core riders rode.

Another, less experienced, group of bike owners bought chrome stuff and long forks, etc. (I know - I worked at a dealership in those days and had customers in both groups)

If "Streetfighters" are just stripped-down streetbikes with powerful motors and good suspension and brakes, I guess that is what I like - even if the term sounds a bit contrived.
