Can anyone suggest aftermarket or oem parts as replacements for these:

I now need a new front turn signal -

plus a new set of mirrors unless I want to live with a scratched up one on the right.

Plus I scratched my Holeshot black muffler -

Plus there are some scratches on the upper fairing.

Plus my brake lever snapped in two

Plus my bar end weight got gouged.

Plus some gouges on the big round engine cover on the right hand side - not sure what that part is called... is there any diagram anywhere of what those outer engine covers are called?

The biggest round cover on the right side is the clutch cover (the one with the oil filler and sight glass in it), the smaller one in front of that is the signal generator cover on the right side and the stater clutch cover on the left front.

I did the same  damage to my '02 about 3 weeks ago. I am living with the scratches on the mirror and engine and can. My bike is black and you'd be suprised how well a sharpie marker hid the fairing scratches. Bought a brake lever and turn signal. In hindsight, I should have moved the rear signals to the front and put ministalks or cateyes on the rear and cut the fender. Kind of makes you want to throw up doesn't it. At least you didn't get your leg caught under the bike and break it. Thats what I keep telling myself! :duh:

I was just looking on Ebay and found this engine cover.  It is off of an 01 but may work.  The auction ends in like 8 hrs and is currently only at $5 with $5 shipping.

Yes - it makes me want to throw up. I've never had any problem riding my bike - it's somehow when I'm just stopped - getting ready to get off and park it - that I lose concentration or something and it tips over. It's like a slow motion nightmare, watching it fall over and not being strong enough to hold it back :-(

Oh well - there are far worse things in life I keep reminding myself.

Curious what people would put on in terms of mirrors though - I was thinking of getting those Napolean mirrors from Holeshot, but I'm too dumb to figure out what to do with the ones that are already on there... duh... I guess Dale will tell me.

I'm going to get the cateye blinkers I guess.

I realize everything can be replaced for $, it's just a question of is it worth it - I'm a new rider - only had my license since March - so I'll probably do it again anyway - so why spend a lot of dough right now and just have the aggravation, right?

Well - it was perfect before this - but that's life! I'll try the marker you mentioned!

Go to eBay, punch Suzuki Bandit in and see what you come up with.  You'll either see brand new OEM parts that someone's not using anymore or some neat aftermarket parts.  I got a lot of parts for my B6 that way.

covers say Suzuki on them... does that help identify?
« Reply #6 on: July 25, 2005, 05:38:14 PM »
well - I've damaged the covers on both sides now (from the same stupid accident on each side)

both say Suzuki on them..

Does anyone know what they are?

Anybody have any preferences on lights - are Holeshot's mini cateye blinkers a fit and are they good?

I have experienced a similar feeling but fortunately kept the bike upright.  Seems like you get conditioned to seeing motion in your peripheral vision and when you stop it doesn't register that continued motion is not good.  Sorta like vertigo or something... and the heat really magnifies the affect.

Was the one on the left, this one?

If so, that's the Starter Clutch Cover, and the one similar to it on the other side is the Signal Generator Cover.

If you're worried about breaking these fragile pieces again, you can protect their replacements with engine guards, or for about the same money as the stock pieces (maybe even less), you can buy a pair of NRC engine covers that will withstand a LOT of punishment, including sliding down the road at a high rate of speed. (Most track require these kind of covers on racers.)

I bought NRC covers before I'd need them on the thought that if the bike ever does go down, the covers will keep the Texas Tea inside the motor and hopefully the bike can still be limped home without the aid of a truck.

One source for NRC covers is APE Racing.
You may even be able to find them cheaper somewhere else.

Here's a pic of a couple of B12's with NRC covers. The silver one is Bobcat's and the red one is mine:

Ebay is the way! There's guys in there that strip right down to the last bolt and nut.  I've seen them sell pistons individually.  You should find all you need there.

I HAVE THE TURN SIGNAL; YOU CAN PM ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

PLEASE INVEST IN A SET OF ENGINE GUARDS.  YOU WILL FIND THAT THEY WILL SAVE YOUR BIKE, YOUR WALLET, AND A LOT OF AGGRAVATION.  I HAVE A VERY GOOD SET, THAT MY CHILDREN GOT ME FOR FATHER'S DAY.  THEY LOOK GREAT AND THEY PROTECT THE BIKE.
