Title: Hey folks, need to pick your brains.
Post by: jadokel on May 02, 2013, 07:03:03 AM
I've got a bit of smoke coming from my breather box on top of my motor; visibly noticeable at night , and can smell it always. Burning oil. It comes out of the filter that came with my Holeshot stage 3 jet kit (filters are for sucking not blowing...he he). Happened on my old '86 gsxr 750 as well, so I'm not too worried about it.

Just wanna know what's going on. Before you guys flame me about being in the wrong area, I went to the B12 area and found a post about oil burning, but to be honest, I'm a little buzzed at the moment (2am here and just thinking about stuff) and there's a lot of type. Just looking for a quick answer to this question: should I be worried? I don't mind oiling it up if there's no fix, but I don't want to ruin my beast.

Appreciate any advise,
Thanks,
Jadokel

2000 B12, Holeshot stage 3 jet kit, Holeshot 5 degree timing advance are the only mech. mods. Runs as well as can be expected from a carb bike.

Before you guys flame me about being in the wrong area...
You have us confused with some other site - we're pretty laid back here... no flaming needed.  We just move the thread if there's a reason to.

Beyond that I can't help with your question but hopefully somebody will soon.

BTW - - - :welcome: to the site.

The 2001 and some 2002 Bandit's had an oil burning problem, you can see the sticky here:

Your 2000 shouldn't have the piston problem, so you back to rings and/or valve seals?
