I'm getting some vibration through the bars, seat and footpegs of my new 1250.
If I put my sunglasses on the seat they'll vibrate off and fall to the ground........I think this is a little excessive, but is it "Normal" for the Bandit??
I dropped by the dealer and asked him about synching the throttle bodies and he said that shouldn't cause it, I think he's wrong! He told me to wait a few hindred miles and see how it feels.
Now I only have 100 miles on her, will it smooth out as it breaks in??
Other than that loving the bike, feels MUCh lighter than 492 pounds, and olenty of torque!

Are you sure you didn't buy a B1200, take a look at the decal on the rear fender? If so then I agree with PualVS, If not and by 1 chance in a million you have a vibrating B1250 that rattles your sun glasses off its defiantly not normal for the new B1250. I would suspect poor factory synchronization of the throttle bodies and you may have to redo it your self or find a dealer the knows how to do it correctly. Very Very unusual.

All engines... even the God-like 1250 :roll: will smooth out as they break in.
If it doesn't seem to improve over the next 1000 miles, then it could be the TB's out of sync... but I would wait 'n see on that.
FWIW... My dad went to see a demo of the Gold Wing the first year it came out ('72?) and they did a little trick of putting a nickel on edge on the engine and then slowly revving the throttle. The nickel would spin on it's edge a little... but never tip over.
The Gold Wing they used was 'broken in' prior to the demo, however.

Interesting! I've been having a buzz in my bike, worse around 2300 rpm or so, that's been driving me crazy. I will have to look into the procedure. Thanks for the tip.

I'll give it a few more miles to break in but then the dealer WILL check the throttle bodies for free, it's a new bike and they SHOULD be synched from the factory.
Still happy with the bike, every bike has it's little idyosyncracies and I was just curious if the vibration was one of them.

I will admit that I'm not experienced with the B1250 throttle body procedure (glorified carburetor bodies) as I have not done mine yet as it will be a bit more tedious and procedurally involved, and for the monument with 1433 miles, idles and runs as smooth as an electric engine (no fooling). But I can tell you that I synchronized the carburetors on my 05 B1200, once after the first 300 miles and again one year later using the Morgan Carbtune (Awesome tool). Of the two sync procedures the first was the worst and needed considerable adjustment as it vibrated, the later adjustment only needed minor tweaking, OK smooth. This was also true for the mixture screws which were off on each carburetor by as much as a full turn between each one. While it is the rule rather then the exception that the factory will have the throttle bodies and carburetors well synchronized from the factory, a few of them come out maladjusted. So no matter what people will tell you to do in a PM, call and write Suzuki and insist on authorization to get the get the the unusual vibration as you describe (sunglasses rattling off) corrected under warranty and that you suspect synchronization but nevertheless something is defiantly wrong.

I haven't ever seen a bike of any kind that I could put my glasses on and not fall off there will always be vibration of some kind. You're putting glasses on a slipperysurface for them of course they will fall off. Do what I do put you're gloves on the tank/handlebar area and put you're glasses on top of you're gloves, you will never sit on you're glasses again.

The last 3 bikes I've had didn't do this and 2 of them were buzzy Kawasaki in-line 4's
The glasses were just an example, not the main point of my question.
I hope it smoothes out with more miles.

Went for another ride today and I must say it feels like it's getting smoother........almost 200 miles on her now.
Going on a long ride to the ROCK STORE this coming Saturday (125 miles from my house) and from there riding with a group of ZRX1200 guys (I'll have to keep them behind me :lol:) and up Hiway 33 through OJAI and ending up in Frazier Park for Lunch.
Total days ride should be about 500 miles.
That should bring my total to about 700 or so.........
