I installed some Hyper Lites. I chose the 16 LED dual function...flash five seconds then steady when the brakes are applied. The kit comes with everthing you need and the instructions cover every detail. Took about an hour. One lesson: I drilled a hole from the underside to the area under the seat to run some wires. Prior to threading the wires and crimping, maybe install a grommet in the hole. I ended up sealing it off with some of the liquid tape I used in the Stebel horn install.

What did the lites cost and how much brighter where they..

I have the U32 Dual Function kit, $93.95. Someone mentioned a few months ago to pick some up at an auto parts store, but I couldn't find anything like this set up. You could probably build your own set for half the cost (or less).
They appear brighter than the tail light...more brilliant might be more descriptive. The eye catcher is the fact they flash for the first five seconds. They can also be set up to flash continuously with the brake applied. When the brake is not applied, they function as running lights.
Pic of the install...stainless steel piece bolted to reflector.

Great job with the lights Sky. They should help momma in the mini-van spot you.
It looks like you have hand guards installed, where did you source them from and do you have pics? (or have you posted pics somewhere else on here?)

Notice our minivan's dent thanks to the neighbor's Beemer.
I ordered my handguards from oneidasuzuki.com. Here's the link from Zenman from this board to all the info about the handguards. http://forums.banditalley.net/viewtopic.php?t=9108&highlight=handguards

Yes, it is an LED. Not sure I'm sold on it. I took some before and after shots of it and looking at the lights, there's not a big difference, but the LED puts more glare onto the walls of the garage...maybe better dispersion of the light vs. the OEM bulb. If/when the LED dies, I'll stick with the low cost OEM bulb and the Hyperlites.

I see one on ebay for the 1250 with a clear lens and signal lights built in if you wish to do that. I was considering just leaving my normal signal lights but using the LED in a hope that it was brighter but I have no way of knowing. How many LED's are there in your stoplight??

It's just one light. It has the same base, 1157 I think, as the OEM light. Someone mentioned that because the lens is red, you have to use a white light...which I did. There's a lot of info on the web about LEDs. They are not all created equal. There's a lot to do with beam dispersion and such. But, like I said, if you're going to go with the Hyperlites, don't bother changing the tail light. There might be an advantage to an LED using less power, but that train of thought exceeds my limited capabilities...maybe someone else will chime in with some info.
