I need a hugger...
« on: March 09, 2005, 11:04:08 PM »
Obviously I don't need one, but I think it has the potential of looking pretty sharp.  I have a carbon fiber Yosh RS-3 which would probably match nicely with a carbon (print, real deal may be too much $$ for me at the moment) hugger.   Any suggestions or advice (or pics!) are much appreciated!
:thanks:

The 1G & 2G B12's use the same huggers. (The B6 is different, and the 1G & 2G B6's are different from each other.) I have the Pyramid hugger, bought thru Holeshot. Holeshot only offers it in glass black gel coat though.

If you want carbon fiber, one option is NWS - they not only offer the traditional carbon fiber (the real deal, BTW), but something they call "Silver Ghost" which looks like a silver carbon fiber. Would probably look especially trick on a silver bike. The styling of the NWS hugger is nearly identical to the Pyramid one.

:beers:   I really like what I see with the pyramid!  Very sharp.  Considering the inch of snow we got this morning, I think I have an excellent opportunity to place my order and clean out the layer of crud under my tail... :monkeymoon:

About the silver...technically, my bike is light-olive-metallic which sometimes looks more gold than silver, and vice versa.  I think it's a beautiful color, but tough to mix and match with.

Thanks a ton for the advice, guys!

I figured that's what you had and the silver ghost probably wouldn't go as well with it. Just threw that out there for anyone interested in the thread.

Would probably look good on a silver 2G...

Our friends the Brits have a good availability. Check out powerbronze.com. The pricing isn't bad either! :taz:

Powerbronze isn't showing a Bandit application anymore... don't know if that means they've discontinued it, or just aren't showing it on their website.

FWIW, NWS & Pyramid are UK outfits, too.

French outfits have a good selection of huggers, too. JMV Concept, Topline, Poly26 and some others I can't think of right now.

Germany has Metisse, GSG-Moto and Bike Side (all three available in the US from Wild Hair).

Read my sig, this thing is very thin. It is the carbon look!!!  If I had it to do again I would look first at Pyramid.

The Pyramid piece, at least in standard fiberglass, is not real flimsy and has a nice rolled edge along the upper rear portion that covers the tire.
