Title: Is there a difference between Holeshot and Buell flyscreens?
Post by: zaptoman on March 13, 2006, 03:53:22 PM
I was just looking online at pictures of both the Holeshot 2nd gen and Buell blast flyscreens. They look the same to me. With the exception of course that the blast screen can be had for much cheaper. Anybody with experience have an opinion here?

FWIW... the H/S is "hand laid" fiberglass.  I believe the Buell is ABS plastic.

Some of the Buells have an off-set bubble to match their asymetrical gagues.

I hadn't looked at the Holeshot flyscreen on their site in some time. I hadn't realized he is on a 2nd generation flyscreen now... AFAIK, the original one was a Buell piece.

I'm not sure if the one I had was a first gen or second gen H/S.  It was def fiberglass.  Pretty nice.

I guess my question is, is there any reason to spend extra money on the holeshot version?

I agree.  The Holeshot piece is Very nice in Fiberglass, and you do get the mounting brackets with the Holeshot, and the easy installation may be worth the extra dough.  But for the price, the Buell is just as good, even if in plastic.

All in all,  I had the holeshot flyscreen, and probably wouldn't purchase another. Just because of the price.
