Katana rear shocks?

I haven't found anything (yet) re: using Katana rear shocks on Bandits. I'm looking at a nice 2001 GSX750 shock to put on my G1 600 (1999). Anyone tried or heard of this type of swap? Seller says its 11.5" bolt-to-bolt centers, which is a bity shorter than stock. Its got the remote reservoir. Seems like the main issue with various GSX-R shocks is that they are a little or a lot longer.

Well its a moot point now. I just got a very nice rear shock off a 1996 GSXR1100 that's been redone by RMR Suspension, on eBay, for $52 w/shipping. I was expecting to go double that - so maybe I missed something here. seems like an awfully good deal to me, we'll see.....
