hi all i want that fat tire look but dont want to wreck something.
what is the largest rear  and front i can mount>?
any brands to suggest

Want the fat tire look? Buy a bike that comes with one.

The bike handles best with the stock size tires.

But if you insist on looks over performance, you can put a 120 up front and a 160 in the back. IIRC, there's been a member or two that have squeezed 170's on, too.

IMHO, none of these tires will wow onlookers, so might as well stay with the stock size. It may be worth stepping up to a 160 if the tire you want isn't available in a 150 (160's did come on 2G B6's).

Normal rule of thumb for rear tires sizes is one up from stock is safe.  Anything more than that, you may run into clearance issues or handling problems.

Check your rim widths and go to a tire manafacturer web site such as Dunlop for a fitment guide.

3.0 front is ideal for a 110 tire
3.5 front- 120 tire
4.0 rear- 150 tire
4.5 rear- 160 tire
5.5 rear 180 tire

Just because the rim will accept a larger tire, does not mean it will clear the chasis. And fitting a tire that is too wide for a given rim width actually degrades tire performance as the contact patch will be reduced.
