Is there a way to modify a B12 so the power to the headlight is cut while the starter is cranking?

Test your bike first.  I have been having troubles when temps go lower than 30 degrees and starting my bike first thing in the morning.  I usually end up push starting it.

anyways one morning I disconnected the headlight and found it didn't help my 96 600 at all.  So I haven't tried this mod at all and don't plan on doing it anymore either.

The 2004-up models do this. I haven't looked at their schematic to see what's different, but if you did, you'd probably have your answer.

(They also got 4-way flashers and a passing light switch.)

One way would be to put an on/off switch in the headlight power line and just manually turn the headlight off when starting.
