Anybody tired them?

My tired battlax's need to go.  The front is the original, with 7 years and 5k miles on it riding in the rain is certainly a character-building experience.  A local mechanic recommends them, says theyre the best tire hes tried on his B12 and 954.  He rides like a retard, and still gets ~4500 mi out of a set.  They are substantially cheaper than the Z6's/Stradas, which are my other options.

Im not Matt Mladin, so I want a basically even balance between grip and longevity.  I ride to school/work almost everday on the interstate, and still hit the twisties pretty hard on the weekends.

I've gotton good performance and longevity form cheng shin tires, however they unfortunely don't make anything bigger then a 150 rear. earlier this year I went up to a 160 rear on my B6 with a Podium and kept the 110 up front and I have'nt had any problems. I tend to stick with a harder rubber compound ,because I travel on the interstate also and commute daily to work (and school until I graduated). The B6 is my primary form of transportation. Harder rubber compound lasts a lot longer then the soft rubber compound used on the sportbikes.

The only thing that matters is how fast you can get from 0 to 60, because top speed is secondary

I need some new tyres myself (well, a rear at least) and had been convinced by my very knowledgeable mate to go for some BT020's. But tonight I found some maxxis supermaxx tyres for a good price, and done some research on the net. From what i found, they will give me exactly what i need. They give the bridgestones a run for their money, and many people prefer the supermaxx. They are good in both wet and dry conditions, and have a long life too. They can even be used on track, apparantly, but still have the long life of touring tyres.

I'm seriously considering getting this pair, but there is also a pirelli diablo strada available at a good price too, so I'm not sure which to go for....

Good luck with your own choice!

It was a real toss up, but I ended up going with a set of shinko 009s.  They were only $150 shipped, so I figured Id trust the lads in Oz.
