Just read about it on Fast Larry's site. Has anybody actually tried this and are there consequences like rejetting or air problems? Fast Larry says you will get that deeper idle you are looking for along with a better mid speed growl topped off with a great roar when you twist her open. He also says, interestingly enough, that that stock can vibration will be eliminated. Need a general concensus before I dig in.

1) The bike is already lean when totally stock. Anyting you do to improve flow will make this worse. It should be livable though since there are folks who install aftermarket slip-ons without rejetting and they'll flow better than a gutted stock can.

2) The '04-'06 models have a one-piece muffler and mid-pipe - just like all 600/650's. The earlier 1200's have a separate muffler from the mid-pipe. This makes it easier to gut. I don't know if anyone has gutted a late-model muffler (or even a B6), but I'd guess it would be difficult.

IMHO, the best bet is to spend the money for an aftermarket slip-on that comes with a mid-pipe and re-jet with a site-recommended kit. You'll be happiest that way.

Ya Red. I realised that Fast larry's mod was on a can that was accessable at both ends. Also, it looks like according to my shop book that the front end contains a mini converter that was not in the earlier models. You're right and I will be sticking with my future Yosh dreams.
