Hey Roamer, How much do you think the fairing weighed? Can you tell the difference on the front end with the weight of the fairing gone?
-
It feels a little lighter when on the throttle. Its not a difference that slows me down on take off's though. Cornering feels the same, the lighter front doesn't impeed handling. I Think it mentally makes the bike feel smaller and more flickable, then again I've been called mental so who knows.

Nice work roamr. I am glad to see more people using other than suzuki parts on their bikes.
How long did the fab take?, and what are future plans? Like relocating the horn?
I fit mine under the tank, and it actually sounds louder, and cleans up the front a bit more

The brackets took only about 30 minutes to cut, drill and hand bend to fit. Not much work really necessary. I do need to grind the bracket ends round and polish them up. I might lower it a bit (1 inch or so) to give a little more agressive look. I would love to do a different tail section but Im not as motivated as you were for the r-1 tail. For now the rest of my projects are performane oriented. I need to get racetec front springs in place of the Progressive ones. I also want to get braided lines all the way round. I need to raise my foot pegs, gonna get holeshot rear sets or lsl raising brackets.

Going by the manual there is 5 kg diference in the faired to naked 1200 bandit. Don't think me annul but i have put my bandit on a diet and have been weighing everything I take off or replace. I now have 27 kgs off it and believe me that is noticable ! Gaz.

The buell headlight, bracket, and screen itself cant weigh more than 3-4 lbs, so you are dropping like 5-8 lbs.

Here is another option by ValterMoto, these are their type 1 rearsets. They cost the same as the HS set back plates -$200- and you get rid of the bulky stock pegs, they are very nice rearsets for the money. ValterMoto also makes a type 1.5 for the Bandit, they are three position adjustable and cost around $300.
Hope this helps, Ed.

Thanks . I'll check them out.
-
I have those rearsets on mine too. Really like them. I'll try to take a pic or two if you'd like to see them installed.
-
Roamr, do the Harley parts make it slower??? :stickpoke:
-
I do all of a sudden have the urge to smoke my cigars while riding instead of after.
-
Does that Windscreen bolt to the headlight bracket? Im mating that screen to my B12 but i have a different twin headlight setup and am unsure how to mount it at the moment.
Thanks! :beers:

Yes it mounts directly to a buell headlight bracket. The buell headlight bracket however does not mount to the forks. I had to fab up some homeade ones that mount to the top fork bolts. So I do not know if this will help you.
-
very nice...

Well I have to be honest. 1st it appears you did a good job with fit and finish and from the front it has a more challenging look then stock naked. But from the side it gives the bike an inquisitive stare or expression.
