Lowered the front end.

Waiting impatiently for the day I can get my suspension where I want ($$$$!!!  :duh:  ).  So started 'playing' around.  Tightened up the front preload and slid the tubes up the clamps 25mm/1".  Ummmm...this is a totally different bike!!!  Very little input required - a little countersteer and weight shift and it's tucked in the corner.  I'm happy and now REAL impatient for the susp. mods!   :beers:

I raised tubes 1.5in and really like the difference, especially after getting rid of the wide stock bar. I sensed some disbelief from others in the fact that I have not experienced any adverse handling traits as a result of dropping the front end this much. I admit 1.5in is a good amount, but it seems as though the bike was made for it.

Glad everything is well, I am running the front end pretty stiff and plan Galfer lines and a fork brace to complete the front.

One thing, with the front already lowered, I will not do the Busa shock mod as I do not want the rear any higher than it is. The Progressive rear shock seems like the best bet to improve handling and not affect ride height.

How's your bike around speed bumps and parking lot entrances? Seems like that much drop will put the exhaust a lot closer to terra firma.

Have not had any clearance problems to date, I will take a measurement from ground to exhaust for reference.

Yeah I ran mine about an inch lower for years.  No adverse affects, except hitting my size 13's on the ground around turns.

Once I did the busa shock mod (I have a 1st gen B12)  I had to lift the front back to the stock position.  Now my feet don't hit.  I love the look and ride of the new position.  But...... I did experience headshake on my b12 for the first time.  On a back road trying to verify my top speed with my GPS, at precisely 125mph (around 135-140 on the speedo!) the headshake begins.  The bike was still pulling like a freight train and only around 7000rpm.  I repeated this run 4 times, and all 4 headshake occured at 125.  I have new Shinko 009's I don't think they are the problem, but not sure.  I still plan to make lowering dogbones, just haven't yet.

Otherwise, up to 125 she rides as smooth as fur on a kitten.

Pro-Teks comin' soon with an additional 1/2" drop.  You guys sold me.  Then over the winter Race-Tech/Ohlins.  Thanks for the brain-pick.
