Well I'm just not happy with the hydraulic clutch on the 1200. I know people like them but I just have not made peace with them in my two years of ownership. Its not that I can't use it or that it doesn't work. I just miss the 'feel' of a cable clutch.
Has anyone with a new gen bandit replaced the clutch actuator with a first gen? Its hard to tell on the fiche if the covers themselves are similar enough or not, if they were then the actual 'cylinder clutch' is all you'd need which isn't all that pricey.
Any ideas :stickpoke:

I haven't noticed any difference in the feel between my clutch's action and that of my son's 1G... both are hydraulic.
If you don't like the feel of the juice clutch, you can swap in the cable setup from a B6, 600/750 Katana or early GSXR750. Yes, the 600/750 countershaft cover will bolt up on the 1200... and you can get those cool ventilation holes on some of them (others have the pattern cast into them, just no one drilled them up).

The 89' 600 Katana that I drag race with a 90' 1127 GSXR motor has the 600 Katana cable setup, and bolted right up to the 1127 motor. Ten years ago I had all of the part numbers to change your setup to cable,(got it for a friend from a friend in the parts dept.)... it might take 2 years to find it on my computer.......... :rant2:
A good parts guy at a dealer should fix you right up.

It is not a big of a deal,,, and about $125.00 US total 10 years ago

man the more I think about this the more I want to do it... I actually really like the look of the ventilation holes!
I honestly though 1G bandits were cable :duh:, I ordered a 1G clutch lever once when a manufacturer didn't list a 2G model and got a lever for a clutch cable so I assumed they were all like that. Weird.
Guess it goes on the pile for things to keep an eye out for. Looking on the fiche it seems like the cover is the most expensive I'm certain I can get a lever setup pretty cheap with any luck I'll find some of it used.
thanks guys for the help.

I vote with you, MM. I'm just not a big fan of hydraulic clutch setups when it comes to the "feel" of the action.......there ISN'T any feel, IMO.
I just haven't been motivated enough to swap mine over, though. I suppose if I was a racer of some kind I might be more motivated.
Oh well, if it ain't broke.....
