Pretty good price.  The 005's were only $140/set, with free shipping when I bought 'em a couple years ago.  But the price you got is about as good as it gets now.

Did they have free shipping on the deal?

I heard that Yokohama sold their motorcycle tire division to Shinko in Korea. Since this is merely "hearsay", I'll leave it up to your discretion to perform due diligence before buying.

'Tis true.  Supposedly Yokohama's m/c tire plant was destroyed in the Tokyo earthquake, so they sold their technology/etc to Shinko.

Hey, thanks for that info! No wonder so many people like the way Shinko tires perform.

Hi guys just adding that here in Australia I run shinko 003 front and 005 rear and have done so for three full sets at about 10,000 kms a set. Hot or cold seasons they hang on like sh#t to a shovel. Have tryed other brands but they do not give me the confidence that the shinko do. And at $290 Aust fitted that is a great deal with heaps of grip.

Reading the thread it appears that everybody is putting 005's on the front and 009's on the rear. True? and if so why.

I apoligize if i missed it in the thread .

I can't speak for everybody but I'll guess they like the mileage the 009 gives them and the grip the 005 gives them and they will wear about the same.

Personally, I don't care for the 005 front at all - and the 005 rear lasts only about what a Pilot Power does so for a cheap commuter tire that can handle some "reasonable" cornering the 009 rear wins hands down.

yea i get to go up some nice twisty roads up here in the lake tahoe area and i scrape my stock pegs on my '01 B6. sooo  no i dont have any complants about grip and no i have no chiken strips on my rear tires and about a 1/4" in the front. i ride the 005 up front with the 009 on back since i mostly comute. im in almost 5k and the tire is starting to show some ware down the center partly due to my wet whillies and shifting down quickly to help slow down but it is still very gripful!!! if thats a word?. psi, on (lots'o) twisties, 30 up front 25 rear, long group rides(little twisties)- 33 frnt 30 rear, comuting 33 frnt 36 rear.
ive been taking photos every 1k and just have been tooo lazy to post them on here. but one day i will. ok now i am going to bounce! boing!!!

And for the Ozzie riders the 006 is now available....
Which is good news for B6 riders as the 006 front comes in a 110width
Just spotted them at OCD racing in Oakliegh, he using them on the front of his drag bikes.
Foot loose and fancy free.
Looking for adventure and what ever comes our way.
