Power outlet mounts
« on: July 30, 2007, 11:45:08 PM »
For those of you running power outlet, or BMW outlets, etc.  Where do you mount them?

I'm looking to mount on a 03 1200S, and the back side of the fairing next to the tank seems like it moves too much, but not finding any place to utilize the mounts easternbeaver.com sells.

I do have two SAE mounted to run the GPS and battery tender, and I'm looking to add two power outlet females (heated gear type stuff) and one cigar outlet, for phone charging.
TIA

I use Gerbing heated gear and just use their pigtail wired up to the bike. When not in use, it's coiled and stowed in the little compartment over the battery and when it's in use, I bring it out between the seat and tank.

Never have needed to charge my phone while riding. I can charge it @ home, work or the hotel.

Thanks Paul.  I can plug a couple of things in the SAE connectors I've got, the reason I'm looking for mounting outlets is to have them switched, so still looking for ideas of where to mount the power outlets.

Several mentions of easternbeaver.com through the pages, seems like some would have some mounting tips.

I use heated gear and have this mounted to the bike:

Works well for me.
