Any else removed the rear fender off of their Bandit? What did you do with the rear turn signals?
How easy to get done?
Did you buy a under tail kit to replace it?
Rear hugger?

I haven't done it yet, but I just plan on doing the old DIY eliminator w/ a piece of metal. I think I am going to try something different for the signals and use eye-bolts to mount them too. I have to mock it up first, but I think it would look different.

Title: fender

I just trimmed mine with a dremel tool.  Went just under the blinkers so I could keep the stockers and then trimmed under the license plate.  Looks a lot better getting rid of the mud flap.  However, as I learned on a rainy ride, that mud flap does serve a purpose.  If you ride in rain frequently think twice as the spray goes right to your butt and puddles there.

I was planning on doing a fender elimination on my bike. My friend just did his on his own sv650 and it looks awesome. I was wondering who has done their own work and do you have pictures. I was also wondering who bought a kit and how it came out. I'm undecided in the route to go and any guidance would be greatly appreciated. note, I have an awesome Bandit 600 98'. And also, does dremmeling it away increase water to the backside alot? I'm not afraid of the rain so i ride in it, and after it so puddles would be a problem if I dressed to stay dry and then my tire shoots it right back to me.

Look at Dale Walker's website. Holeshot Performance. I think he has instructions posted there.

I don't have a good shot of my tail section on this computer and my over computer is about 6 or 7000 miles away.  I just trimmed as much as I could off and took the license plate holder and flipped it.  I then drilled two holes in the plastic and remounted the license plate holder to the remaining plastic.  This isn't the best picture for the tail section, but you can see how much I took off.

Holeshot gives DIY instructions for the 2G - for the 1G, he sells a kit.

I cut mine shorter, actully have 2 of them. One cut way short for my R1 tail end. And left the license bracket on one for the stock tail end.Put the signals in a box and put on some small cat eye signals on that are close to the bike. Even the front fairing(gen 1) I had the holes filled solid when painted, and the cat eye signals mount off the bottom of the fairing.
Title: holeshot's info is good..

I looked into the holeshot page and if you go and select the
bandit600/1200 left link and then in the main page select under streetfighter parts B-12 Fender Elimination kit and then once more go about 1/3 way down to "Click here for 2000+ B-6 and 2001 B-12 Rear Fender Eliminator Info. " it'll take you to his page.    Or you could just go to    http://www.holeshot.com/old/Bandit/bndt_fendr_elim2.html .   It's actually pretty good, thanks for mentioning it. Hopefully I'll do it correctly.

roamr, did you just mount the plate bracket through the holes that the plate light came out of? or did you have to drill more holes?
I trimmed my fender but left the plate and light in stock spot.
My light burned out and a bought a small unit to replace it with and I'm thinking about moveing the  plate to hide the ugly spot where the old light mounted. I have'nt spent any time yet looking at it, so it may be real ez I don't know.

Title: where to put the inspection sticker?
Post by: davidk on September 30, 2006, 10:22:02 PM
hey chupra, could you post a picture to yours? thanks to theroamr for posting  the pict, thats a good view of what it would look like but where did you put the inspection sticker? I have mine on my uncut fender and don't know exactly what I would do with it after i cut it.  Also, where is your license plate light, i thought illegal not to have one? Once again thanks for time.

Mine looks about the same as Roamr's but my plate is mounted (in stock position)about two inches lower. I'll take a picture of my bikes rear and the new plate light I got. I haven't finished the mod yet.

I cut mine of with a sawz all and cleaned it up with a dremel.  Reused the brackets from the side reflectors and all the screws I just cut off with the tail.  Mounted the lights to the plate holder I fabbed from the reflector brackets.  Cost me $1.29 and I am still jazzed about it.  It was raining and late so I was being pretty creative with reusing parts.  My tail light lights the plate (g2 b12).  I will add a picture tomorrow.
