Title: Speedometer/odometer question
Post by: Paul Gagnon on July 18, 2009, 02:48:18 PM
In the manual for my bike it says that the UK version is switchabe from metric to imperial. Seems to me that this should have been included in the Canadian and US spec bikes as well. Does anyone know if this it is possible to change a circuit board in the gauge pack to get this feature or is it possibly an ECM related change?

not sure about the bandit instruments but on the GSXR gauges it's a combination of buttons... which I also don't remember... in short i'm no help at all  :yikes:

They say the vast majority of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border, so it surprises me that CDN Bandits (and many other CDN market motor vehicles) that have analog speedos don't have a dual scale like their US counterparts.  Seems if you live that close to the US, you're probably going to come down for a visit now and then... and we're just being stubborn about converting to the metric system... even he UK is further down the path than we are.

It sounds like you're talking about a digital one though - and I don't know anything about the Bandits with those.

Yeah I don't understand it either. Seems to me that the likelyhood of a Canadian rider needing to be able to read their speedo in mph is greater than it would be for a UK rider to need to use km/h.
